Effect of antipsychotic treatment on functional brain connectivity of schizophrenia patients

Supervised by Prof. Nivethida Thirugnanasambandam and Dr Sreeraj V S

A surface-based connectivity analysis with the Freesurfer and CONN toolboxes, tracking how functional brain networks change after three months of antipsychotic treatment.

  • Built functional neuroimaging pipelines with Freesurfer and the CONN toolbox to process and analyse longitudinal fMRI data.
  • Applied these methods to map how brain networks in schizophrenia patients adapt after three months of targeted antipsychotic treatment.
  • Correlated network-level connectivity changes with psychiatric clinical assessments to look for functional markers of treatment response (manuscript in preparation).
  • Presented at Neuroimaging Workshop 2025, National Brain Research Centre, India.
